Most of my drawing is done in sketchbooks, which I've kept continually since the end of my 6th grade year (2000, I would have been 11). Most of it's crap, unfinished, etc...but there are a few things I thought worth sharing. So, my goal is to post from all 26 sketchbooks I've had at this point. Hence the title - the sketches below are from book #23, chosen as the guinea pig because it was easy to scan.
There probably won't be any order to this, and it's very unlikely there will be anything in sketchbooks 1-5 worth sharing (trust me.) and I might combine some of them...but anyway. It's a helpful way for me to look back and see how I've improved (or not).
Oh...and as is usual with me, there will be commentary. Probably more than you care to read. Again, it's more for my sake. I'm sure i'm not the only one who can look at their old doodles, even the crappy 5-second ones and remember the whole situation behind it. This is me writing those down so I won't forget later. :D

As stated before, this is Sketchbook #23. I started it in February of 2008 and finished it in August of 2008. My first year of college at the community level.

The title page. You see what I wrote up top there? "I promise this one will be better than sketchbook #22!"? LIES. EMPTY PROMISES. All the kana on the page is 'cause I was enrolled in a Japanese course at the time.

Unfinished fake "cover" page from a manga that I never really wrote or drew. It's more the product of my friends and I sitting around the food court and making up stories about the people we observed. We have notebooks filled with character designs and story ideas, but nothing concrete ever came of it. Probably because it was cornier than the corniest j-drama. Also I was doing all the work.

Axel! I was really happy with this one.

Some random guy, and a crossed-out Axel that apparently I wasn't pleased with at the time. Which is strange, because looking back now I wish I hadn't crossed it out. There's nothing wrong with it! xP Artists sure are fickle.

Sometimes I draw things I shouldn't. Case in point: This, believe it or not, is Toy Story fanart. I was watching it one day with my brother and made up a whole thing about Sid and Andy. Cut out of the frame is Andy holding the Woody doll. I can't draw Woody.

Another character from that non-manga three pictures up. This guy's design was based off Miyavi. He was a rockstar who grew up with the main character, and fell in love with her. He returns to his hometown after becoming famous to try and win her love, but she's already in love with her classmate, who is gay and pining after a guy who is straight. I TOLD you it was corny.

And sometimes I just draw weird shit.

Another Axel.

SOKKA~~~ sokka sokka sokka. I drew him so much. And I still can't really draw him right.

The generals from Sailor Moon. I meant to color this, but I never did. Now that I actually have it scanned, perhaps I will. :D

Everything is made funnier with the inclusion of rockets. Exhibit A: Rocket cat. Drawn on the back of a scrap of wrapping paper at work.
These last two I didn't actually draw myself, but they're still in my sketchbook, and...well, see for yourself:

Ah, sorry for the bad scan. Anyway. This is the Retarded Pikachu Drawing Contest. I started it while trying to pass the time between classes. Basically it was me drawing the sample pikachu, and passing the sketchbook around to all my friends. Things I learned: my friends are very sensitive about their ability (or lack thereof) to draw pikachu. And only a few of them would volunteer. I also feel the pikachu in the lower-right corner deserves some explanation, but I can give none.

The second page of the Pikachu Drawing contest. Opens in a new window because I thought some of you might be offended by crudely drawn dicks. Then again, if you were, you likely wouldn't be reading this journal.
That's it, I didn't have many good sketches in #23. Maybe not the best one to start with. Well anyway. Yeah.
